WORK LOCATION: This position allows for a hybrid / flexible work schedule with a mix of work spent on site at the Sargent & Lundy office and working remote from home.ย 

We areย seekingย a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Analytical Engineering Consultant specializing in Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) analysis of power systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing complex calculations related to Transient Over-Voltage (TOV), Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV), Switching Studies, and Insulation Coordination. Additionally, the candidate shouldย possessย extensive softwareย proficiencyย in PSCAD or EMTP-RV.ย 

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Conduct detailed electrical analysisย utilizingย time domain techniques to evaluate system performance andย identifyย potential issues.ย 
  • Perform complex calculations related to Transient Over-Voltage (TOV), Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV), Switching Studies, and Insulation Coordination.ย 
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions toย optimizeย system performance and mitigate risks.ย 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technicalย expertiseย and support in electrical analysis and troubleshooting.ย 
  • Prepare comprehensive reports documenting analysis findings, recommendations, and design modifications.ย 
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to time domain analysis.ย

  • 10+ years of experience in time domain analysis of power systems.ย 
  • Proficiencyย inย utilizingย software tools such as PSCAD or EMTP-RV to perform complex electrical calculations.ย 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability toย identifyย and resolve complex technical issues.ย 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.ย
