Job description

Overview
The Technical Data & Analytics (D&A) Consultant is responsible for helping clients successfully adopt and operationalize Lumina Connect solutions. This role combines consultative leadership with technical implementation expertise and serves as the bridge between client business objectives, RealPage data products, and the customer-owned technology ecosystem.
The consultant partners with clients to understand business goals, data strategies, reporting and analytics needs, and technical constraints. They define the approach for delivering RealPage data, guide implementation of connectors and data integrations, interpret data dictionaries and metadata, and help clients connect RealPage data to their data warehouse, reporting tools, or analytics platforms. Examples may include Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, depending on the customer environment and approved product capabilities.
The consultant owns the full project and serves as a trusted advisor and technical escalation point. The role is housed within the D&A Technical Implementations team and works closely with D&A Consulting, Product, Engineering, Support, Sales, and Account Management to drive clear requirements, accurate data delivery, effective testing, timely handoffs, and durable client outcomes.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical success leader and full project owner for client implementations involving Lumina Connect.
  • Create, execute, and manage implementation and project plans for multiple customers, including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, testing, acceptance, and handoff activities.
  • Translate client business, reporting, analytics, and AI use cases into clear technical requirements, data requirements, integration designs, and implementation deliverables.
  • Guide clients through data dictionaries, field definitions, business rules, metadata, data lineage, file layouts, refresh expectations, and related documentation.
  • Partner with technical implementation teams to configure and validate connectors, data feeds, APIs, exports, permissions, network requirements, and related integration components.
  • Help clients connect RealPage data to customer-owned data warehouses and platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or other reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Perform or oversee data validation, reconciliation, testing, and acceptance; identify data quality issues, missing data, defects, and integration problems and drive resolution.
  • Troubleshoot customer data, integration, network, permissions, SQL/Postgres, and configuration issues, escalating appropriately to Product, Engineering, Support, or other internal teams.
  • Provide consultative guidance, training, and enablement to technical and business stakeholders so clients can sustain and expand their data solution after implementation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of requirements, decisions, mappings, risks, issues, testing results, client communications, and implementation status.
  • Identify opportunities to improve implementation methods, reusable artifacts, connectors, documentation, automation, and cross-functional processes.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Strong consultative, project management, and client relationship skills; ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Expertise in data concepts including data dictionaries, schemas, field definitions, source-to-target mappings, data lineage, refresh cycles, data quality, and reconciliation.
  • Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Data Lakehouses, etc.
  • Working knowledge of data integration patterns, connectors, APIs, file-based feeds, authentication, network permissions, and customer-owned data warehouse environments.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts, including joins, aggregates, filtering, core functions, and the ability to investigate customer data issues.
  • Ability to understand how data is consumed by reporting and analytics platforms, including Power BI and other customer BI tools.
  • Familiarity with RealPage solutions a plus, including Business Intelligence, Performance Analytics, Lumina Ascent, and BI Exchange.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with attention to detail and the ability to translate complicated technical information into practical recommendations.
  • Executive-level written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to facilitate discovery sessions, technical workshops, status meetings, testing reviews, and decision-making discussions.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with D&A Consulting, Technical Implementations, Product, Engineering, Support, Sales, and Account Management.
  • Experience creating reusable documentation, automated or long-term solutions, implementation standards, and processes that improve quality and reduce cycle time.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Salesforce, SharePoint, and collaboration tools such as Teams.
