Position Summary

Aalis Management Consulting seeks a highly qualified Sr. Business Intelligence Data Architect (Power BI & Azure) to support a Federal Agency by designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise business intelligence and data architecture solutions. This position will play a critical role in transforming complex data into actionable insights through scalable data pipelines, cloud-based data warehouses, and executive dashboards.

The successful candidate will collaborate with program managers, technical teams, and government stakeholders to architect data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Azure, SQL, and Python, along with strong communication and systems architecture skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and enterprise data warehouses.
  • Develop interactive dashboards, scorecards, and reports using Power BI.
  • Architect cloud-based analytics solutions using Azure services, including Azure SQL, Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics.
  • Integrate and transform data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Optimize data models and query performance for analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Prepare executive briefings and data visualizations to support decision-making.
  • Establish data governance, quality assurance, and documentation standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data and reporting issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and analytical capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business intelligence, data architecture, or analytics development.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI, Azure, SQL, and Python.
  • Experience designing enterprise data warehouses and cloud-based analytics platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT development, dimensional modeling, and database design.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect certification.
  • Experience supporting federal agencies and Public Trust environments.
  • Familiarity with healthcare, engineering, or capital improvement data.
