Job description

Job Title: Nuclear Plant Integration Engineer (Test Abstracts and Specifications) Location: Bellevue, WA Type: Contract Compensation: $69.00 - $115.00 per hour Work Model: Remote โ€“ offsite Hours: 40.0

Overview System One is seeking an experienced Nuclear Plant Integration Engineer to coordinate and support the creation, development and management of post-construction and startup test abstracts and test specifications for our clientโ€™s Advanced Reactor Demonstration project. The primary focus of this role is developing and fortifying the framework, across the system design engineering teams, for creation and authorship of test procedures, test abstracts and test specifications. This role also will be responsible for training related engineering personnel on proper documentation practices, as well as acting as liaison between plant design groups and the Commissioning/Operations team. This position ensures that test documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner. Test documentation integration and alignment with the Licensing and Operations teams is a priority.

Responsibilities โ€ข Acts as the liaison between reactor/plant design groups and the Commissioning/Operations team. โ€ข Coordinates creation of test abstracts and test specifications by design groups to support the commissioning/startup operations team developing test procedures. โ€ข Develops and trains system design engineers on how to author test abstracts and test specifications. โ€ข Supports procedure management and schedule. โ€ข Drives appropriate cross-discipline review and approval of test specification to ensure all required test data can be obtained to demonstrate system quality and functionality. โ€ข Ensures test documentation is completed in a timely manner, collaborating with engineering teams to facilitate timely resolution of challenges and inputs. โ€ข In coordination with Operations, develops and implements testing strategies that encompass functional, regression, performance, and acceptance testing. โ€ข Participates in design reviews to provide early feedback on testability and quality.

Requirements โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field โ€ข 10+ years of experience with at least 2 years of experience in hardware testing or reactor/reactor plant testing โ€ข Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test documentation such as abstracts, specifications, and procedures โ€ข Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail โ€ข Experience with design engineering and systems engineering โ€ข Understands startup test programs and inputs needed to support a startup test plan and requisite procedures โ€ข Ability to review design documents and translate into test specifications โ€ข Project coordination and project management experience

Preferred โ€ข Knowledge of commercial nuclear and/or naval nuclear power โ€ข Familiarity with startup testing approaches, tools, and processes โ€ข Knowledge of Equipment Qualification process/requirements/program โ€ข Understanding of systems engineering and requirements verification and validation
