Position Summary

Seren Specialty Insurance is seeking an experienced Auto Liability Bodily Injury Adjuster to join our growing claims organization. This position is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving complex commercial automobile bodily injury claims while delivering exceptional service to insureds, brokers, defense counsel, and claimants. The ideal candidate possesses strong coverage analysis skills, litigation management experience, and the ability to independently handle moderate to severe injury exposures from inception through resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Investigate and manage commercial automobile bodily injury claims from first notice through closure.
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and coverage issues.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate reserves.
  • Conduct recorded statements and review medical records, wage documentation, police reports, and expert opinions.
  • Retain and manage defense counsel and experts when necessary.
  • Develop litigation strategies and actively manage litigated files.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and mediators.
  • Prepare large loss summaries and provide timely reporting to management and reinsurers.
  • Maintain diary systems and ensure compliance with internal claims handling guidelines.
  • Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, risk management, and executive leadership regarding claim trends and exposure management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining appropriate claim documentation and file quality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of commercial auto bodily injury claims experience.
  • Demonstrated experience handling moderate and severe injury claims.
  • Experience with litigated files and management of defense counsel.
  • Strong understanding of comparative negligence, coverage analysis, and damage evaluation.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and achieve favorable claim outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
