Senior Developer Relations Engineer

Cresta

OR • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement, PTO

Posted 5 days ago

Job description

Cresta unlocks the true potential of the customer experience, turning every conversation into a competitive advantage. Cresta's unified AI platform combines conversational AI agents, real-time human agent augmentation, and comprehensive conversation intelligence to drive revenue and efficiency gains across every channel. The world's leading companies, including United Airlines, Cox Communications, and Marriott, use Cresta to power world-class customer experiences every day.

Born from the Stanford AI Lab, Cresta has raised more than $270 million from the world's leading investors, including a16z, Greylock, and Sequoia. Cresta's leadership includes some of the leading minds in AI today. Our CEO, Ping Wu, founded and led Google's Contact Center AI and Vertex AI platforms before joining Cresta to build the future of AI-driven customer experiences.

Over the next few years, AI is going to redefine how people all over the world interact with businesses every day. Come build that future at Cresta.

About the role:

Cresta is looking for a Senior Developer Relations Engineer to become the technical voice of our AI agent platform in the developer and partner community. This is a hands-on, hybrid role: part software engineer, part storyteller, part community builder. You'll show developers, partners, and prospective customers how to build, test, and ship real AI agents on Cresta, primarily through video, blog posts, tutorials, and workshops, and you'll bring what you learn from that community back into the product.

Cresta's platform is enterprise-heavy (large regulated customers, complex integrations, rigorous testing and evaluation requirements), so this role needs someone who can go deep technically, not just narrate a demo. We also maintain some open-source tooling and sample projects, so comfort working in the open is a plus.

What You'll Do :

  • Create technical content that teaches developers how to build AI agents on Cresta: blog posts, written tutorials, and long- and short-form video (walkthroughs, live coding, demo breakdowns).
  • Build and maintain sample apps, code snippets, and reference integrations that show best practices for building, testing, and evaluating agents on the platform, including in open-source repos where appropriate.
  • Plan and run workshops for developers and partners, both virtual and in-person, that take people from zero to a working agent.
  • Represent Cresta at conferences, meetups, and partner events, delivering talks and demos and engaging directly with attendees.
  • Run a feedback loop with developers and partners: collect what's confusing, missing, or broken in the platform and developer experience, and route it to Product and Engineering with clear, actionable detail.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to keep messaging and documentation aligned with what the platform can actually do.
  • Improve onboarding and the first-build experience for new developers and partners evaluating the platform, including getting-started guides and sandboxes.
  • Stay hands-on with agent building and testing: prompt engineering, tool/function calling, RAG, and evaluation, so the content you produce reflects real, current platform capability rather than marketing copy.
What We're Looking For:
  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, ML engineer, or developer advocate, with strong technical credibility and hands-on coding ability.
  • Practical experience building and testing AI agents: LLMs, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, function calling, RAG.
  • Comfortable working in Python and/or Golang/TypeScript; able to read and write real integration code (APIs, webhooks, CRMs).
  • A track record of developer content: blog posts, tutorials, or videos that other engineers have actually used.
  • Public speaking or workshop-facilitation experience at meetups, conferences, or customer/partner events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain enterprise-grade technical concepts clearly to a developer audience.
  • Comfortable in an enterprise context: the platform's complexity, testing rigor, and partner requirements mean you'll need patience and depth, not just a flashy demo.
  • Startup mindset: able to move fast, wear multiple hats, and adapt as the DevRel function and program mature.
  • Bonus:
    • experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.
    • based in the Bay Area

Perks & Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive and people-first benefits package to support you at work and in life:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with plans to fit you and your family
  • Flexible PTO to take the time you need, when you need it
  • Paid parental leave for all new parents welcoming a new child
  • Retirement savings plan to help you plan for the future
  • Remote work setup budget to help you create a productive home office
  • Monthly wellness and communication stipend to keep you connected and balanced
  • In-office meal program and commuter benefits provided for onsite employees

Compensation at Cresta:

Cresta's approach to compensation is simple: recognize impact, reward excellence, and invest in our people. We offer competitive, location-based pay that reflects the market and what each individual brings to the table.

The posted base salary range represents what we expect to pay for this role in a given location. Final offers are shaped by factors like experience, skills, education, and geography. In addition to base pay, total compensation includes equity and a comprehensive benefits package for you and your family

Base Salary Range: $170,000-$300,000 + Annual Bonus & Offers Equity

We have noticed a rise in recruiting impersonations across the industry, where scammers attempt to access candidates' personal and financial information through fake interviews and offers. All Cresta recruiting email communications will always come from the @cresta.ai domain. Any outreach claiming to be from Cresta via other sources should be ignored.  If you are uncertain whether you have been contacted by an official Cresta employee, reach out to recruiting@cresta.ai
