Description

Job Summary

As a Plumbing Estimator, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects from different geographic locations. This position plays a key role in maintaining and improving the accuracy of Plumbing bids for new residential projects. You will be responsible for producing accurate plumbing bids based on floor plans and builder specifications. You must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be highly organized, and have a keen eye for detail. Job duties and functions related to Plumbing Estimating may change according to department needs. This position can be remote.


General Responsibilities 

  • Generate accurate and detailed plumbing bids utilizing builder provided blueprints and specifications
  • Collaborate with the Sales team and the Purchasing department to ensure all requirements are included in each bid to the builder.
  • Work loosely with the Starts department to ensure accurate data entry for each new house.
  • Start to finish project estimation, providing "turnkey" estimates to the sales team and/or the home builders.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, and Production managers to gather all necessary information for accurate bid proposals. 
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal codes and regulations pertaining to plumbing systems. 
  • Manage multiple bid proposals simultaneously.

Qualifications

  •  Estimating experience in new home construction preferred 
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications as well as have a general knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Must be proficient in basic computer skills that include but are not limited to MS Outlook, Excel, vendor portals and company software.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn company processes and procedures and take on new projects with a "can do" attitude
  • Proficient at professionally communicating both verbally and in writing with coworkers, clients, and builders.
  • Perform the physical demands of the position - working indoors with long periods of time sitting; listening and speaking on the telephone; viewing monitor and workstation.
