A remote physical therapy assistant is a licensed healthcare professional who supports physical therapists by providing patient care and therapeutic interventions via telehealth platforms. They assist with exercises, monitor progress, educate patients, and ensure compliance with treatment plans, all through virtual communication methods such as video calls, phone calls, or specialized apps. This approach allows patients to receive rehabilitation services from the comfort of their home while maintaining regular contact with their care team.

How does a remote physical therapy assistant typically collaborate with supervising physical therapists and patients in a virtual setting?

As a Remote Physical Therapy Assistant, you will regularly communicate with supervising physical therapists via video calls, secure messaging, and digital documentation platforms. Collaboration involves reviewing patient progress, discussing adjustments to treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with therapy protocols. You'll also interact directly with patients through virtual sessions, guiding them through exercises and monitoring their form and progress. Clear communication and proficiency with telehealth technologies are essential to maintain effective teamwork and deliver high-quality patient care.
