As a Pharmacist for our Specialty Mail Service Pharmacy, you will have the ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals while providing leadership and guidance to supporting staff. Our Pharmacists ensure the accurate delivery of pharmaceutical care services, which include drug therapy monitoring, patient education, drug information and chronic disease state management for our clinical programs.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviews and interprets specialty medication orders, ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and adherence to treatment guidelines.

  • Establishes specialized patient counseling and education on the proper administration, potential side effects, and therapeutic goals of specialty medications.

  • Confers with healthcare providers and insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations and facilitate reimbursement for specialty medications.

  • Conducts most complex medication assessments, identifying drug interactions, contraindications, and potential medication-related problems specific to specialty medications.

  • Assesses patient response to specialty medications, evaluating therapeutic outcomes and adjusting treatment plans.

  • Educates healthcare providers on specialty medications, dosing, drug interactions, and alternative therapies.

  • Integrates with the multidisciplinary care teams, providing clinical recommendations and contributing to treatment decisions for patients requiring specialty medications.

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols in the handling, storage, and dispensing of specialty medications.

  • Stays updated on the latest research, guidelines, and advancements in specialty pharmacy practice, incorporating new knowledge into patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Pharmacist License in good standing in State of Texas.

  • Reside in the State of Texas within commutable distance of Flower Mound, TX.

  • Six months pharmacy experience.

  • Six months work experience with Windows-based applications like Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications.

  • Schedule: Sundays 7:00 AM–5:30 PM Central Time on-site; remaining weekday shifts (up to 10 hour shifts) are remote work from home with availability between 7:30 AM–6:00 PM.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licenses in other states desirable.

  • Prefer Healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, prescriptions.

  • Advanced problem solving and decision making skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Advanced collaboration and teamwork skills.

  • Advanced growth mindset skills (agility and developing yourself and others).

  • Advanced skills in execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting).

The typical pay range for this role is:

$50.48 - $84.62

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
