About the Organization

Serene Behavioral Health Group Inc. is a progressive integrated outpatient care practice committed to providing exceptional and comprehensive mental health services. Our focus is on individuals with co-occurring disorders, ensuring that our approaches are not only holistic but also targeted toward facilitating complete recovery. By utilizing evidence-based practices and personalized care plans, we aim to empower our clients in their journey to mental wellness and sustained recovery.

Work Environment

This position offers a remote work setting, allowing flexibility while maintaining a high standard of care through telehealth services. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists, all committed to providing integrated treatment plans that address our clientsโ€™ unique challenges. The work hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, fostering a balance between professional obligations and personal well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and substance use disorders and identify co-occurring conditions that may affect their recovery.
  • Engage collaboratively with clients to design personalized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based interventions addressing both mental health and substance use needs.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on developing coping mechanisms, relapse prevention strategies, and emotional regulation techniques, while creating a safe environment for open dialogue.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the multidisciplinary team on client progress, treatment adaptations, and care strategies to ensure a cohesive treatment experience.
  • Implement regular substance use monitoring and apply motivational interviewing techniques to support clients in progressing towards recovery goals.

  • Participate in ongoing case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education to enhance understanding and skills related to co-occurring disorder treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on clients dealing with the dual challenges of mental health issues and substance use disorders. By addressing both aspects simultaneously, we aim to break the cycle of dependence and promote lasting recovery. The ideal therapist in this role will not only be well-versed in clinical practices but also possess a deep empathy for the struggles our clients face.

Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies applicable to co-occurring disorders, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • A solid understanding of the complex relationship between mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration within diverse teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in outpatient settings focused on co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual therapy methods, enhancing client engagement and access.
  • Prior involvement in interdisciplinary care teams, enriching collaborative treatment approaches.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide:

  • A comprehensive healthcare benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions to help secure your financial future.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) in addition to recognized holidays to support work-life balance.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities, including specialized training in integrated care approaches to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
