We are hiring licensed pharmacists who currently own, co-own, or operate an independent pharmacy for a short-term paid consulting engagement focused on pharmacy workflow documentation.
This is not a staff pharmacist, dispensing, or patient-care role. We are looking for independent pharmacy owner-operators who can help us understand how real pharmacies run day to day: the systems used, the handoffs between team members, the operational bottlenecks, and the decisions that come up in common pharmacy workflows.
Candidates must currently own, co-own, or have executive decision-making authority at an independent pharmacy. Applicants without current independent pharmacy ownership or equivalent decision-making authority will not be considered for this specific engagement.
What you’ll do
You’ll participate in remote consulting sessions and help document real-world independent pharmacy workflows, such as:
- Prescription intake and e-prescribing workflows
- Insurance adjudication, rejects, prior authorizations, and payer follow-up
- Fill, verification, pickup, delivery, and refill workflows
- Medication synchronization and adherence packaging
- Inventory, ordering, returns, and shortage handling
- Immunization, MTM, clinical service, compounding, LTC, or specialty workflows if applicable
- Team handoffs between pharmacists, technicians, delivery staff, billing staff, and owners/managers
- Systems used across the pharmacy, such as pharmacy management software, payer portals, fax, phone, delivery tools, spreadsheets, and vendor platforms
You may be asked to:
- Walk through pharmacy workflows step by step over Zoom
- Explain what information is needed at each step
- Identify common exceptions, edge cases, bottlenecks, and decision points
- Review process maps, task lists, or SOP-style documentation for accuracy
- Provide written feedback on whether a documented workflow matches how independent pharmacies actually operate
- Help distinguish routine tasks from complex or judgment-heavy tasks
Required qualifications
- Licensed pharmacist in good standing in at least one U.S. state
- Current owner, co-owner, managing partner, or executive decision-maker at an independent pharmacy
- Hands-on experience running or overseeing day-to-day pharmacy operations
- Strong understanding of community pharmacy workflows, pharmacy management systems, payer interactions, and team roles
- Comfortable explaining operational processes clearly and step by step
- Able to participate in remote calls from a private workspace
- U.S.-based
