What is a Remote Pathology job?

A Remote Pathology job involves analyzing laboratory samples, such as tissue or blood, from a location outside of a traditional lab or hospital setting. Pathologists or pathology assistants review digital slides and data using telepathology technology to diagnose diseases and provide clinical insights. This role allows professionals to work from home or remote facilities while collaborating with medical teams. It requires specialized training in pathology, proficiency with digital tools, and strong diagnostic skills. Remote pathology helps expand access to expert analysis, particularly in underserved areas.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Pathology position, and why are they important?

To excel in Remote Pathology, you need a medical degree with board certification in pathology, expertise in interpreting diagnostic tests, and a current medical license. Familiarity with digital pathology platforms, telepathology systems, and laboratory information management systems is essential for day-to-day remote diagnostics. Strong attention to detail, clear written communication, and independent time management are important soft skills in this setting. These skills ensure accurate diagnoses, efficient workflow, and effective collaboration with remote healthcare teams.

What are the typical workflows and collaboration methods for remote pathologists?

Remote pathologists usually review digital slides and case documentation through secure platforms for diagnostic work, often collaborating with on-site laboratory staff, clinicians, and other pathologists via video calls, messaging tools, and shared electronic records. These professionals may join regular virtual meetings to discuss complex cases or participate in tumor boards and case review sessions. While much of the work is independent, effective remote communication and timely reporting are key to supporting patient care and ensuring seamless integration with the wider healthcare team. By adapting to digital workflows, remote pathologists can maintain high-quality diagnostic standards and contribute meaningfully, regardless of their location.

Job description

Speech-Language Pathologist Consultant Opportunity

We're expanding our Speech Therapy services and need Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to serve as part-time consultants. You will help us shape local care models, expand insurance contracts, and if interested, create a launch-pad to build or grow your own independent practice—without the usual operational headache.

Key Responsibilities:

  • We are looking for a variable commitment, up to 1 hr commitment per week
  • Advise on state regulations, cultural nuances, and care-model innovation.
  • Advise on policies and outcome metrics to ensure evidence-based, family-centered care.
  • Act as the primary credentialed provider for the group when we are applying to commercial and Medicaid plans in your state.
  • Use and critique our all-in-one tech stack (scheduling, data, EHR, billing) to guide product improvements.
  • If you wish, start seeing clients on our platform and build your own practice over time (no upfront fees, full ops support).

What We Provide:

  • World-class operational support so you stay focused on clinical input.
  • Fully integrated practice-management suite, payer enrollment team, and rapid-pay billing.
  • Access to a nationwide peer community
  • Priority eligibility for a full practice-owner track with 3Y Health whenever you're ready.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Active SLP license in good standing in Texas
  • Familiarity with payer credentialing or utilization-management processes is a plus.
  • Passion for expanding equitable speech therapy care and experimenting with outcome-driven models.
  • Enjoys autonomy and remote, flexible collaboration

Compensation will be $100-150 per hour dependent on experience and geographic location.

About 3Y Health: At 3Y Health, we believe SLPs deserve more — more freedom, more support, and more impact. That's why we've created a platform where SLPs can launch and grow your own practice with no upfront costs and full operational support.

We handle the logistics. You focus on care.

What Makes 3Y Health Different?

  • $0 upfront to join — No fees, no hidden costs.
  • Earn up to $320,000/year based on your client caseload and schedule.
  • Concierge assistance with LLC creation, business banking, and liability insurance.
  • Total flexibility — You choose your hours, clients, and care model.
  • World-class support — We take care of operations so you can focus on clinical outcomes.
  • Custom referral support to help you build your preferred caseload.

What We Provide Practice Owners:

  • All-in-one software suite – Includes Practice Management, Scheduling, EHR, Data Collection, Billing, Onboarding, and mobile apps for you and your clients.
  • Insurance partnerships – We're adding new payer partnerships all the time in multiple states
  • Practice launch support – We'll help you start your own SLP-focused company if you don't already have one.
  • Fast payments – Get paid upfront per session. No more chasing down insurance.
  • Payroll made easy – We'll run payroll for you if you'd like.
