BHMG VASER Clinical Support Team
Part-time Licensed Practical Nurse
The VASER Clinical Support Team is an innovative care model designed to improve provider's well-being while enhancing patient access and continuity of care. Team members practice at the top of their license by applying clinical judgment to asynchronous patient care, supporting primary care teams across the health system, and helping transform the delivery of ambulatory care.
Working in a virtual, team-based environment, the LPN manages patient messages, prescription refill requests, clinical advice requests, test results, and care coordination activities to reduce administrative burden on providers while improving patient access, continuity, and experience.
Requires strong clinical judgment, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to independently prioritize a high volume of asynchronous patient care tasks while collaborating closely with physicians, APPs, pharmacists, and practice teams.
Clinical InBasket Management
  • Review, prioritize, and manage incoming Epic InBasket messages.
  • Triage patient advice requests using approved clinical protocols.
  • Process prescription refill requests according to BHMG policy and procedures.
  • Review laboratory and diagnostic results for appropriate routing and follow-up.
  • Escalate complex or urgent clinical concerns to VASER providers or primary care teams.
  • Identify urgent patient needs requiring same-day appointment.

Patient Communication
  • Respond to patient messages through MyChart and telephone encounters.
  • Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and provider recommendations.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments when clinically appropriate.
  • Reinforce care plans and encourage patient engagement.

Required
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Current Kentucky/Indiana LPN license
  • Minimum two years of ambulatory or primary care experience
  • Epic electronic medical record experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
