The Role

We are looking for a Senior Medical School Admissions Consultant who is an experienced physician with a deep understanding of the medical school admissions process. If you're passionate about mentoring and guiding future physicians through medical school applications, this could be the perfect fit. In this role, you'll work closely with students to build medical school application strategies, refine their personal statements, prepare for medical school interviews, and support them in choosing the right medical schools and programs. You'll be a trusted coach throughout the med school admissions process, helping students present their strongest selves and gain admission to their top-choice medical schools. This is a part-time, remote, 1099 contract role that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Work with prospective medical school candidates, helping them identify opportunities to build their profile and draft compelling medical school application documents
  • Manage relationships with applicants and families while providing strategic and tactical guidance on medical school selection, essays, resumes, recommendations, interviews, and the overall medical school admissions process
  • Identify optimal medical programs and medical schools for individual students; provide feedback and guidance to students regarding their research on university programs and relevant admissions resources, finding alignment with the student's background and goals
  • Support students with project planning, application timeline management, and progress tracking through internal organizational tools
  • Stay up to date on the medical school admissions process and programs to advise prospective and existing clients on appropriate school selection and the nuances of applying to medical school
Qualifications
  • Admissions Committee Experience: Have served on a medical school admissions committee or admissions board with experience reviewing applications and making acceptance and rejection decisions, providing insights into the medical school selection process
  • Completed an MD or DO degree
  • 5–7 years of experience in education, coaching, tutoring, and/or medical school admissions consulting
  • A passion for coaching
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong English reading, writing, and editing skills, particularly for medical school essays and personal statements
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Expertise in project management and applicant tracking
