Job description

Remote (work EST hours) | Full-time | $60- 65K at 35 hrs -- $70k for 40hrs.

This is a great opportunity with a Canada‑wide, cloud‑based bookkeeping firm that partners with churches. Given the remote nature of this position, we can consider applicants Canada Wide! Must be capable of working EST. There will be a yearly conference to attend with the group that will require travel.

Behind every set of books is a real human — often someone carrying financial, leadership, and ministry responsibilities — and our job is to bring clarity, calm, and confidence so they can focus on what matters most. The Senior Bookkeeper/Onboarder plays a critical role in bringing this mission to life.

You’ll guide new clients through onboarding with care and clarity — setting up systems, cleaning up historical data, completing initial bookkeeping for several months, and documenting processes. The clients will then be transitioned to a member of the team while you continue to support newly onboarded clients. This is a fast paced dynamic role that requires high level foundational cloud bookkeeping skills, multi client experience, comfort with managing up to 15 clients with end to end monthly bookkeeping. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Hours.

This is not a behind‑the‑scenes paperwork role. It’s a hands‑on, people‑focused position that blends technical expertise with thoughtful communication and strong process design.

If you love creating order, building confidence, and helping clients start strong, this role will feel deeply rewarding.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead clients through the onboarding process with confidence and care
  • Set clients up in QuickBooks Online, Wagepoint, Dext, and other cloud-based systems
  • Complete cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping work
  • Handle the first few months of bookkeeping to establish clean, accurate foundations
  • Identify and solve issues from prior bookkeeping records
  • Document workflows and recurring client processes
  • Train and transition clients smoothly to their ongoing service team
  • Communicate clearly with clients, banks, and internal teams throughout the process
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong cloud-based bookkeeping experience with confidence in handling complex files
  • Have 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a bookkeeping or accounting practice
  • Must Reside in Canada, able to work EST hours
  • Advanced QuickBooks Online experience
  • Experience with cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable leading conversations and building client trust
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with cloud-based systems
  • Process-minded with a passion for creating efficient, scalable systems
  • Someone who enjoys solving problems, untangling messy books, and helping clients feel supported
  • capable of remote work in a space that is conducive to focus and productivity; travel for occasional training conferences will be part of the role.

This role is ideal for a high-level bookkeeper who enjoys working with new clients, solving problems, and creating organized systems that set everyone up for success.

This hiring process with include successful completion of employment references & background checks; Police & Credit Check along with an assessment.

Why Join?
  • Purpose-driven work supporting churches and community organizations
  • Fully remote environment with a collaborative team
  • Proudly Female owned and led organization
  • Strong onboarding, training, and support
  • Ownership without micromanagement
  • Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding company
  • Meaningful work where people and relationships matter

If you’re a confident bookkeeper who loves both people and process, we’d love to hear from you.
