Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team at Healing Escape Psychotherapy Services. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments through preliminary interviews, taking comprehensive notes from consultation to the conclusion of treatment.
  • Evaluate the mental, behavioral, and emotional health of clients to determine specific needs and suitable interventions.
  • Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for diverse patient populations, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on the unique challenges faced by each client.
  • Monitor ongoing progress throughout the treatment plan, adjusting approaches as necessary based on client feedback and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, doctors, nurses, and social workers to create a comprehensive intervention plan.
  • Communicate effectively with psychiatrists and other attending physicians for clients admitted to hospitals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Identify and proactively address behaviors that may hinder recovery, employing evidence-based strategies to mitigate risks to mental wellness.
  • Support family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges, providing them with tools and resources necessary for their roles.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work closely with a diverse client base, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Your expertise will be vital in guiding clients through their challenges, empowering them to enhance their mental wellness and resilience, and fostering a supportive environment for personal growth.

Qualifications
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as either an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
  • A proven track record with a passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience working as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a strong skill set in the field.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as AVATAR, to document sessions and manage patient information effectively.
  • Familiarity with addiction disorders and their underlying physical and emotional health conditions.
  • Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a sympathetic disposition conducive to establishing trust with clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing support for diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed care techniques and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
  • Previous involvement in community outreach or educational initiatives related to mental health.
