AR Billing Analyst (Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle)

We're looking for someone who enjoys digging into data, solving problems, and improving financial performance-not just processing transactions.


About the Role


This is not a traditional medical billing position.


We partner with an experienced outsourced billing company that manages our day-to-day billing operations. We're looking for an internalBilling Analystwho will own the financial side of that relationship by monitoring performance, identifying trends, improving cash flow, and ensuring our revenue cycle is operating at its highest level.

What You'll Do


  • Monitor Accounts Receivable and identify trends affecting cash flow.
  • Analyze aging reports and work high-value or aged accounts.
  • Review payment posting and identify discrepancies.
  • Partner with our outsourced billing company to improve collections and resolve issues.
  • Identify denial trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Build and maintain executive dashboards and financial reporting.
  • Analyze reimbursement trends by payer and referral source.
  • Monitor key revenue cycle KPIs, including:
    • Days in AR
    • Collection percentages
    • AR aging
    • Cash collections
    • Denial trends
    • High-dollar outstanding balances
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Recommend workflow improvements and implement best practices.
  • Serve as an internal resource for revenue cycle reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable and collections.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, formulas).
  • Experience analyzing financial data and identifying trends.
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards for leadership.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance, or DME billing is preferred.
  • Brightree experience is a plus.
