We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager, OSP Service Assuranceto oversee and manage the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of outside plant (OSP) break/fix projects and emergency restoration for our telecommunications infrastructure, supporting network restoration and maintenance 24 hours, seven days a week, 365 days a year. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and successful repair of our network. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management within the telecommunications industry, with a focus on OSP projects.
NOTE: The team is open to this position working remotely within the United States.
Day Shift 1: 7am - 5pm EST - (4) Days per Week - Tues Off
On Call Rotation: Sat 7a - Mon 7a - Once every 6-8 Weeks
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Lead and manage the planning and execution of outside plant break/fix from inception to completion.

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for projects as required.

  • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, construction, design) and external stakeholders (clients, vendors, contractors) to ensure SLA objectives are met.

  • Oversee OSP activities, including fiber placement, splicing coordination, make-ready support, restoration, and maintenance.

  • Ensure work aligns with construction prints, permits, and engineering specifications.

  • Budget and Resource Management:

  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled, and projects are delivered on time and within scope.

  • Establish, monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of deliverables and supporting workflows in order to measure operational performance, as well as identify and assess areas of opportunity for improved process efficiencies and performance.

  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements, including manpower, equipment, and materials. Timely update of budget requests, purchase orders, project close outs.

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or budget overruns.

  • Resolve any issues that arise during the course of the project, including procurement delays, resource shortages, or technical challenges.

  • Stakeholder Communication:

  • Maintain clear and continuous communication with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, project teams, and vendors.

  • Prepare regular progress reports and updates on project status, addressing any concerns or changes to scope, cost, or schedule.

  • Manage and maintain customer communications in partnership with the NOC throughout Fiber restoration and maintenance processes

  • Work jointly with the leadership from the NOC, Construction, Project Management, Engineering, and Change management teams.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the project is completed in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct regular quality inspections and audits throughout the project to ensure adherence to design specifications and industry best practices.

  • Contract and Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring their performance aligns with project requirements and timelines.

  • Review and manage contracts, change orders, and procurement processes as needed.

  • Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all project-related documentation, including contracts, permits, and reports, is properly maintained and stored.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, permits, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must have working knowledge of structured cabling and routing.

  • Must be familiar with email, MS Excel, Word, Google Earth.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale OSP projects, including fiber optic and cable installations.

  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.

  • Must be able to read and understand construction documents.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control, and construction standards in OSP projects.

  • Ability to pass MVR check and drive company vehicle in accordance with Fleet Policy.

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.

  • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, or a related field, preferred, or additional years of experience may be used in lieu of this preference.

  • At least five (5) years of experience in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to visit project sites and walk in construction areas.

  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods.

  • Ability to handle stress and multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated base salary range: $77,100 - $118,600 USD/annually
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
