Job description

Note :

  • Remote - must work PST hours - (Highly prefer candidates located in PST).

Position Overview :

  • Want to work with highly motivated individuals on high-performance teams?
  • Join WWT today This position will provide operational support for the existing capabilities of the Grid Management System (GridMS) Historian, AVEVA PI.
  • This system supports situational awareness and critical analytics for SCE’s Distribution and Subtrans grid systems.
  • Additionally, this position may provide project support to design, test and implement capabilities in the GridMS PI Historian.
  • The successful candidate is expected to provide subject-matter expertise for supporting client requests, be responsible for resolution of highly technical and complex issues occurring within the system and on-going operations.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE:

  • Translating business needs into operationally supportable designs.
  • Planning and conducting structured and unstructured testing including support of end-user testing for Historian capabilities and features.
  • Development of PI analytics and reports to support T&D client needs.
  • As needed, supporting activities involving clients, IT teams, and vendors in the operations and maintenance of our existing PI Historian system.
  • Maintaining codes for existing/new custom applications/scripts for GridMS PI Historian.
  • Consulting with and knowledge sharing to SCE employees on PI technical and operational topics.
  • Ensuring all work performed is in alignment with SCE compliance requirements and cybersecurity standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8 years of relevant IT or Engineering experience supporting data or analytics solutions.
  • 5 years of experience implementing AVEVA/OSI PI Solutions or administering PI in a complex environment.
  • Must have proficient analytical skills to troubleshoot complex problems related to real-time systems.
  • Must have capability to create and execute shell script and Python.
  • C# / .NET development experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledgeable about PI integration and custom adaptors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Transmission and Distribution grids and/or experience with Distribution Management Systems (DMS).
  • Experience performing data analysis, development of reporting and related support functions for software systems and providing recommendations to resolve issues.
  • Proficient with SQL queries and reporting tools and platforms.
  • Experience with DNP3, Modbus, IEC61850.
