Instructor – Electrical Training

Full-Time | Permanent

Remote

Salary: $35–$55 per hour

Description

We are looking for an experienced Instructor – Electrical Training to deliver high-quality electrical training in both classroom and hands-on laboratory settings. This role will prepare and deliver training programs, engage adult learners, administer examinations, and help develop and improve courses based on industry standards and customer needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong electrical industry experience with excellent communication and teaching skills and enjoys helping others build their technical knowledge and skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver custom and standard electrical training in classroom and laboratory environments.

  • Prepare and present lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on lab exercises.

  • Lead classroom discussions and create an engaging, professional learning environment.

  • Administer and grade examinations and provide feedback to students.

  • Apply industry standards and safe work practices to training content and laboratory activities.

  • Develop new training programs and improve existing courses to meet customer needs.

  • Use applicable NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, ASTM, ANSI/NETA, and OSHA standards when developing and delivering training.

  • Travel to customer locations as needed to provide training.

What You Must Have

  • 3–7 years of experience teaching, instructing, public speaking, or delivering formal training in an adult education environment.

  • 7–15 years of low-voltage industrial installation and troubleshooting experience.

  • Electrical industry experience with a strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory.

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.

  • Experience with low-voltage residential and/or electronics installation and troubleshooting preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical installations, grounding, conductor ampacity, motor circuits, overcurrent protection, voltage drop, and related calculations.

  • Experience with motor controls, PLCs, motor drives, LV/MV motors, relays, field devices, and electrical control systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, one-line diagrams, mechanical prints, symbols, and technical documentation.

  • Knowledge of electrical shock and arc-flash hazards, safety regulations, safe work practices, and PPE.

  • Experience with low-voltage circuit breakers, including maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair.

  • Comfortable using basic electrical tools and equipment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe applications.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and passport required.
