This role is remote in function but requires onsite work at our Columbia location. This is not a work-from-home position.

Position Summary
The Certified Pharmacy Technician performs remote prescription order entry and non-clinical call center support functions. This role assists patients and healthcare partners with prescription services, documents requests accurately, and routes clinical matters to pharmacists. All duties are performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in compliance with HIPAA and applicable laws.
Primary Responsibilities
Accurately enter prescription patient and insurance information into pharmacy systems
Perform remote order entry in accordance with procedures
Answer inbound calls and assist with prescription status refill requests and general inquiries
Update patient demographics and insurance information as needed
Route calls and requests appropriately based on urgency and technician scope
Escalate all clinical or pharmacist-only matters
Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions
Manage call volume while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
Collaborate with pharmacy and clinic teams using approved systems
Support workflow queues and timely follow-up
Participate in quality and compliance activities
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Active South Carolina Pharmacy Technician Registration required
CPhT preferred
Strong computer phone and data entry skills
Experience with pharmacy systems and customer service preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
Work Environment
