Job description

Position: Oracle Functional Consultant – Projects, Fixed Assets & OAS Reporting

Location: Remote/Occasional Travel to client place

Duration: Long term contract

Experience: 15+ Years

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead functional analysis, design, testing, and support for Oracle EBS Projects, Fixed Assets, and Payables modules.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Project Accounting, capital project lifecycle management, asset capitalization, CIP processes, and Fixed Asset accounting.
  • Analyze and resolve end-to-end process issues spanning Oracle Projects, Payables, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, and integrated boundary systems.
  • Support project-to-asset capitalization flows including Generate Asset Lines, Interface Assets, Mass Additions, and asset creation processes.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, document functional designs, and support UAT and production deployments.
  • Validate accounting flows, reconciliation processes, month-end close activities, and subledger-to-GL integrations.
  • Partner with technical teams to identify root causes and implement solutions for reporting and data-related issues.
  • Support defect triage, production support, hypercare activities, and continuous process improvements.

Oracle Functional Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Projects (PA), Fixed Assets (FA), Payables (AP), and General Ledger (GL).
  • Deep understanding of project cost collection, capitalization, asset additions, transfers, retirements, adjustments, and depreciation processes.
  • Experience with AP-to-Projects and Projects-to-Fixed Assets integration flows.
  • Understanding of POET accounting structure and project-related invoice processing.
  • Experience supporting month-end and year-end financial close activities.

Reporting & Analytics Expertise

  • Strong experience with Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) reporting solutions.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot OAS reports, dashboards, and data validation issues.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Oracle BI Repository (RPD) development and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of backend Oracle EBS tables, views, and data relationships supporting Projects, Fixed Assets, Payables, and GL reporting.
  • Ability to perform data lineage analysis from Oracle transactional tables through OAS reporting layers.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong SQL skills and ability to validate financial data across Oracle EBS modules.
  • Understanding of Oracle EBS data model, interfaces, and integration architecture.
  • Ability to reconcile transactional data, identify data discrepancies, and support report validation.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Finance, Accounting, IT, and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Oracle EBS functional consulting experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale finance transformation or ERP modernization initiatives.
  • Prior experience with Oracle Fixed Assets implementations, enhancements, or migrations.
  • Experience supporting OAS reporting environments and Oracle BI repository development.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business and executive stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Financials.
  • Knowledge of Oracle BI Publisher, ODI, and data warehouse reporting solutions.
  • Experience supporting audit, compliance, and reconciliation reporting requirements.
  • Airline, transportation, or large enterprise finance systems experience.
