Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Database Developer / Contract Manager to provide senior-level database, data management, data integration, and program management support for a federal government program focused on modernizing report production, data operations, and automated reporting.
This is a highly senior technical role responsible for supporting large-scale data environments, database operations, data integration, reporting processes, and data management initiatives. The position will also provide program-level coordination and management across the technical effort.
The technical environment includes PostgreSQL, SQL, Linux, Python, Tableau, APIs, GitLab, and customized ETL processes.
Responsibilities
  • Provide senior technical leadership for database development, administration, data management, and data integration activities.
  • Support and enhance existing enterprise data environments, including relational databases, data warehouses, and government data repositories.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize database solutions, SQL queries, and database objects using PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar technologies.
  • Support ETL, data transformation, data modeling, data quality, data governance, and automated data processing initiatives.
  • Support the modernization and automation of recurring report production and data reporting processes.
  • Analyze technical and business requirements and translate them into effective database, data, and reporting solutions; support integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production implementation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, standards, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide program management and technical coordination, including coordination of technical activities, priorities, deliverables, and resources.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of professional experience managing or supporting large-scale enterprise data management, data integration, and database administration environments.
  • Professional experience supporting a U.S. federal government agency or federal government contractor.
  • Extensive experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or comparable enterprise relational database platforms.
  • Strong experience with relational databases, data warehouses, SQL, data integration, and ETL.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis, data modeling, and data integration.
  • Experience with data governance and enterprise data management.
  • Significant program or technical management experience.
  • U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience developing stored procedures, functions, and triggers and supporting cloud-based database environments.
  • Experience with automated reporting, report production modernization, data quality, data transformation, and data accessibility.
  • Experience with Tableau, Python, APIs, and system integration.
  • Experience supporting federal data operations or statistical/analytical reporting environments.
Work Environment
  • 100% remote
  • Generally Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Federal holidays excluded
  • Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required
  • Travel is not anticipated
  • Government-furnished laptop and access to required systems and data
  • Work will be performed within government-approved environments and systems
