Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Field Sales Engineer to join the Data Power and Control Team. This role supports the technical aspects of pre-sales engagements and focuses on solving customer challenges through practical, welldesigned solutions, acting as the technical subject matter expert for fiber optic connectivity, copper connectivity, and physical support product lines.

The Field Sales Engineer works closely with sales teams, resellers, distribution partners, and agency representatives to deliver technical leadership, product expertise, and customer-facing support across our data infrastructure product lines.

This is a REMOTE position with an emphasis on supporting customers and partners onsite across the Western United States. 50 percent travel required.

What Will You Do?

    Serve as technical subject matter expert for fiber optic connectivity, copper connectivity, and physical support product lines.
  • Provide pre-sales engineering support for customer and partner product inquiries.
  • Conduct product presentations, solution demonstrations, and technical training sessions.
  • Communicate product capabilities and integration strategies aligned with customer infrastructure and business goals.
  • Identify new market and application opportunities across enterprise, healthcare, government, retail, and data center environments.
  • Build strong relationships with end users as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Support proofofconcept engagements, evaluations, and project management activities.
  • Resolve customer product issues by developing practical and effective solutions.
  • Act as the onsite technical liaison for escalated support issues requiring factory-level involvement.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience: 7+ years in the information technology transport field and/or a related manufacturing field.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of TIA cabling standards and BICSI best practices; industry certifications (e.g., BICSI, RCDD) strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio required.
  • Experience with CAD design and modeling software required.
  • Ability to write technical specifications and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate across Production, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, comfortable leading customer meetings and technical discussions.
  • Demonstrated focus on quality, responsiveness, and timely deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and within a dynamic team environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align solutions with customer needs.
  • Willingness to travel 50% domestically - primarily west coast.

Salary and Benefits: $100,000 - $120,000 base plus bonus
