HR Manager for Remote Operations and SIGNIFICANT TRAVEL

Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 + 15% performance bonus
About the Role: This is an exceptional opportunity for an HR professional eager to make a significant impact while exploring the diverse landscapes of Ontario. The HR Manager will play a crucial role in supporting people operations in remote and fly-in communities, providing full-scope HR support across various sites. This position allows for remote work but requires substantial travel to engage with site managers and employees directly.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive HR services, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, and workforce planning, to ensure safe and high-performing operations at remote sites.
  • Act as the main HR liaison for site managers and employees, offering guidance on conflict resolution, investigations, and policy interpretation while promoting a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with leadership and corporate teams to facilitate onboarding and training for new hires, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide strategic and tactical advice to site managers and senior leaders, translating workforce insights into effective strategies that enhance operations and employee satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to enhance HR processes, employee engagement, and operational efficiencies across multiple sites.
  • Address escalated HR issues, payroll, benefits/pension administration, and scheduling while supporting lodge managers, executive chefs, and administrators in various remote locations.
  • Engage in frequent travel (40-60%) to remote sites to build relationships, deliver training, and support on-site leadership teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in remote workforce management or multi-site operations. Experience in camp-based environments is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian employment legislation, excellent coaching and conflict resolution skills, and a process improvement mindset.
