Job description

Job Summary

The Legal Operations Manager plays a critical role in optimizing the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of Clark Associates’ Legal Department. Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Affairs and Legal Operations, this role is responsible for managing legal workflows, systems, metrics, and process improvement initiatives.


The Legal Operations Manager partners closely with Product Compliance, Finance, and other cross-functional business teams to ensure legal services are delivered in a consistent, data-driven, and business-aligned manner. This role is ideal for a strategic, operationally minded professional who combines strong project management skills with an understanding of legal and compliance environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve legal and compliance workflows, intake processes, and standardized operating procedures to increase efficiency and consistency.
  • Serve as the primary administrator and strategic owner for legal technology platforms
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and reporting related to legal workload, matter volume, cycle times, spend, and risk trends.
  • Manage legal department budgets, forecasting, and spend tracking in partnership with Finance and Legal leadership.
  • Oversee relationships with outside counsel and legal service providers, including onboarding, performance tracking, billing review, and rate management.
  • Act as a liaison between Legal and key internal stakeholders including Procurement, Sourcing, Quality, Trade, IT, and Employee Services
  • Support change management and adoption of legal processes across the organization through training, documentation, and communications.
  • Provide operational support for regulatory, compliance, and risk management initiatives as needed.
  • Lead and support cross-functional projects related to legal, regulatory, and compliance priorities, including system implementations and process redesign.
  • Prepare executive-ready materials, summaries, and insights to support decision-making by senior leadership.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Remote Work Qualifications
  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, or WY). H-1B Visa Sponsorship Not Available, W2 only.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations, compliance operations, or a related legal support function.
  • Demonstrated experience with legal technology systems, workflow design, and operational metrics.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
