Job description

Simplot is a family-owned, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. Its integrated portfolio of companies includes food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. Simplot has major operations in nine countries with products and services available to customers worldwide. 

Summary

The Credit Manager position will be responsible for the National Credit function and associated Simplot priorities (Turf & Horticulture). This role will maximize quality sales, influence credit decisions, collect accounts timely, and ensuring policies and procedures are followed and oversee Credit Analyst assigned in the region. The Credit Manager will provide Area Financial Services coast-to-coast across the Nation (including Hawaii).


Although the role is remote, it is preferred that eligible candidates must be residing within the Central Time Zone (OR within close proximity of major airport to meet the 25% travel expectations within this region). CST and Midwest region may include, but not limited to, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennesseee, Illinois, Alabamaa, Mississippi, Michigan, Texas and/or Missouri. A company vehicle will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzes financial strengths/weaknesses of prospective and existing customers determine eligibility forcredit, financing, or related services.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with a creditable information network.
  • Develops, implements, and manages effective collection procedures in accordance with established creditpolicies.
  • Manages collections process to ensure proper sending of follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past dueaccounts, and referral of accounts to collection agencies.
  • Provides insight for the updating of the credit policy as to new concepts and procedures.
  • Analyzes and recommends specific reserves for bad debt expense (when assigned).
  • Understands, communicates, and implements Simplot's Credit Policy and Procedures.
  • Assists in providing and interpreting credit information for management and others as required.
  • Remains informed of agricultural trends, changes, and practices.
  • Oversees 2 Credit Analysts within region
Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training in Credit Management and Financial Services.
  • Ag Finance experience preferred but not required.
  • Turf & Horticulture experience preferred.
