Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud) based in Netherlands.

This is a hands-on, build-focused engineering role centered on designing, automating, and operating a modern multi-cloud platform that powers enterprise-scale applications and services. You will work at the core of a platform engineering team, turning architectural direction into production-ready infrastructure through code and automation. The role emphasizes deep technical execution across infrastructure as code, cloud services, and CI/CD pipelines rather than high-level architecture or governance. You will contribute directly to the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of cloud environments used by development teams across the organization. Operating in a collaborative engineering environment, you will work closely with architects, developers, and operations teams to continuously improve platform capabilities. This is an opportunity for a strong builder who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems and delivering real-world impact through automation.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable multi-cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily across Azure and AWS environments, following established platform standards.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including reusable modules, functions, and workspace structures aligned with best practices.
  • Create and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation workflows to enable configuration management and reliable deployments.
  • Build and operate CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to support infrastructure provisioning and continuous delivery processes.
  • Provision and support AI-enabled cloud services such as Azure AI Foundry and AWS Bedrock for application teams consuming these capabilities.
  • Ensure platform reliability through day-to-day operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, hardening, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to translate platform requirements into automated, production-ready solutions.

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud platforms, with additional exposure to AWS and/or GCP considered an advantage.
  • Solid background in Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, with experience building reusable modules and maintaining scalable codebases.
  • Strong proficiency in Ansible for configuration management, automation, and deployment orchestration.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and operational tasks.
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps tools, including repositories, pipelines, and release workflows.
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows system administration in cloud or hybrid environments.
  • Understanding of Git workflows, version control practices, and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a bias toward practical execution and delivering working solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package aligned with senior engineering roles.
  • Flexible remote and hybrid working options across Europe.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, paid leave, and retirement plans.
  • Access to continuous learning programs and structured career development opportunities.
  • Inclusive and diverse workplace recognized for collaboration and innovation.
  • Opportunities to work on cutting-edge multi-cloud and AI-enabled infrastructure projects.
  • Strong engineering culture focused on ownership, execution, and continuous improvement.
