Job description

Operating Room Nurse Manager

Day shift position with variable start times. On days with meetings, early arrival before 7 AM or staying after 4 PM may be required. No weekends or holidays.

The Operating Room Nurse Manager will oversee the nursing staff and operations of the operating room while providing direct patient care when required. This role demands expertise in current AORN guidelines, regulatory compliance, and leading performance results against key performance indicators, including turnaround times and first case start times.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Operating Room.
  • Ensure compliance with TJC and DOH regulations.
  • Lead various initiatives and new project rollouts while maintaining sustained compliance.
  • Maintain and enhance department performance metrics, including key performance indicators.
  • Act as a resource for troubleshooting and support in the operating room.
  • Provide direct patient care when necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • 5+ years of experience in operating room nursing.
  • Preferably holds CNOR certification.
  • Experience as an OR leader with trauma experience is essential.
  • Understanding of HRO initiatives is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with UKG, Kronos, Workday, and staff scheduling.
