The Medina Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in providing exceptional, compassionate care to our clients. • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, assessing clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological states.
• Document each client’s journey meticulously, from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment, ensuring careful attention to detail.
• Collaborate with clients to develop personalized intervention and recovery plans catering to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
• Regularly monitor client progress within the treatment framework, making adjustments as necessary based on feedback and outcomes.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other mental health professionals, medical staff, and social workers on client care strategies.
• Communicate with psychiatrists and attend to clients who may require inpatient services, ensuring seamless transitions in care.
• Help in identifying potential behaviors that may hinder client recovery, implementing preventive strategies to foster healing.
• Provide support for family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with tools to address mental health challenges at home.

Medina Counseling Center serves a diverse clientele, including individuals experiencing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. • A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Experience as a mental health counselor with a track record of successful client outcomes.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for efficient documentation and care coordination.
• Knowledge of and familiarity with best practices endorsed by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Experience in addressing co-occurring physical and mental health issues, as well as specific knowledge in addiction disorders.
• Understanding of the effects of medications prescribed for mental health conditions and their implications for treatment.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt counseling techniques based on the unique needs of the individual client.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, with additional benefits including a comprehensive healthcare package, retirement savings plan with employer contributions, and generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay.
