You will interact with clients primarily through video conferencing or telephonic sessions, leveraging electronic health record systems to maintain accurate and organized client documentation. • Conduct detailed assessments and preliminary interviews with clients to evaluate their mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
• Develop customized treatment plans that cater to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, integrating evidenced-based practices.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe and supportive environment for open discussions.
• Monitor clients' progress throughout their treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies as required.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care providers, to ensure cohesive client care.
• Assist in the identification and prevention of negative behaviors that can impede recovery, providing strategies for overcoming barriers.
• Support family members and caregivers by equipping them with tools to manage their loved ones' mental health challenges effectively.
• Document all interactions and interventions with clients accurately in the electronic health record system to maintain a seamless flow of information.

Our client base is diverse, including adults, adolescents, couples, and families dealing with a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and crisis management. You will be empowered to create inclusive and tailored strategies that meet the individual needs of each client, thereby enhancing overall treatment outcomes.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT in New York State is necessary.
• Completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is mandatory.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from varied backgrounds.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills, with proficiency in using electronic health record systems like AVATAR.

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in outpatient settings.
• Familiarity with current best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Experience in dealing with addiction disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects, particularly on mental health treatment.
