KYROS is the only actuarial firm solely focused on loyalty programs. We’re a small, boutique, fully remote consulting firm built by actuaries and technologists who wanted to rethink how actuarial work is done.
We help your favorite frequent flyer program, hotel, bank or retail loyalty program measure and optimize the economic value that the program creates through a modern, highly technical combination of actuarial theory, machine learning, and big data technology.
As a lean and growing team, we operate much more like a startup than a large consulting firm. We move quickly, expect a high level of execution, and rely on team members to take ownership of their work end to end. This is an environment for people who work efficiently, make sound decisions with incomplete information, and enjoy delivering high-quality work without layers of process or bureaucracy.
We also leverage AI in service of human potential -- not to replace our people, but to amplify what they’re already great at. It’s freed our team up to spend more time on the work only a person can do: solving hard client problems, pushing into new territory, and building real relationships. If you’re comfortable working alongside AI as part of the job, you’ll fit right in here.
Likewise, if you thrive on variety, enjoy coming to work not always knowing exactly how your day will unfold, and get energized by balancing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment, this role is for you.
The RoleSalary range: $135,000-$185,000
We’re looking for a highly motivated actuary to help us manage and grow a portfolio of client relationships. This role is best suited for someone who thrives on being the connective tissue between technical analysis and client decision-making; someone who can own a project end to end, keep multiple workstreams moving at once, and turn complex modeling outputs into a clear, compelling story for a client. This is a place where you can make a real impact, as opposed to getting lost as one more cog in a big machine.
You’ll act as the primary point of contact for a set of clients, partnering with our analysts and data scientists to scope and execute actuarial analyses rooted in machine learning. This includes estimating and forecasting loyalty program liability, customer lifetime value (CLV), and other key drivers of program economics. You don’t need to write the code yourself, but you do need to understand the analysis well enough to guide it, question it, and defend it in front of a client.
Just as important as the technical fluency is the entrepreneurial mindset it takes to work here: clients bring us open-ended, sometimes non-actuarial business problems with no existing solution, and you’ll need to be comfortable building a solution in the ambiguity rather than waiting for one to be handed to you.
Even within our niche, no two engagements look alike — airline, hotel, retail, gaming, and ticketing loyalty programs all behave differently. If you’re an actuary who’s bored of running the same reserving analysis on repeat, this is about as non-traditional as actuarial work gets.
A Day in the LifeNo two days look exactly the same, but here’s what the work typically looks like:
There’s also real opportunity to shape how we work: to improve our client deliverables, contribute to internal tools like our KPI validation platform, and help define what a great client engagement looks like as we grow.
