• Conduct detailed assessments to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, using evidence-based methodologies.
• Collaborate with clients to design personalized treatment plans that align with their individual goals and preferences, integrating therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies, empowering them to take an active role in their healing process.
• Monitor client progress consistently, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals for a holistic treatment approach.
• Stay informed on current research and best practices related to mood disorders to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
• Maintain up-to-date client records that adhere to legal and ethical standards, demonstrating accountability and professionalism.
• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to further cultivate your expertise.
• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs, actively working to reduce stigma associated with seeking counseling and support.

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is mandatory.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities to effectively manage client caseloads and administrative duties.

• Experience utilizing multiple therapeutic modalities, particularly in the areas of divorce and relationship counseling.
• Previous work in outpatient settings or community health organizations is a plus.
