• Conduct thorough and compassionate mental health assessments tailored to older adults, ensuring to integrate their unique challenges and individual histories.
• Develop, implement, and regularly adjust individualized treatment plans that address cognitive, physical, and emotional health needs, employing evidence-based therapies.
• Provide individual and family therapy sessions, offering intervention strategies for a range of geriatric psychiatric conditions, including crisis intervention during mental health emergencies.
• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care for elderly patients.
• Actively educate patients and their families regarding their mental health conditions, treatment choices, and available community resources to foster a better understanding and encourage engagement in the therapeutic process.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of patient interactions using EHR systems, leveraging technology to streamline therapeutic workflows.
• Engage in regular team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing educational opportunities to remain current with research, treatment best practices, and innovations in geriatric mental health care.

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, delivering culturally sensitive and age-appropriate mental health services. You will encounter older adults dealing with a multitude of challenges, from chronic mental illnesses to situational adjustments related to aging. • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois is essential for this position.
• Demonstrated expertise in geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating a patient-centered and empathetic approach to therapy.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, specifically in the area of geriatric mental health, is preferred.
