Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while providing essential support within school settings. As an LCSW, you will primarily engage with students, educators, and families virtually, making it crucial to be adaptable and responsive to various situations. Your work hours will typically run Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional evening or weekend hours required based on student needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to evaluate the emotional, mental, and social well-being of students, identifying strengths and areas of concern.
• Work closely with students and their families to craft personalized care plans aimed at achieving specific mental health goals and enhancing overall wellness.
• Provide counseling and emotional support, facilitating coping strategies to help students manage anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges.
• Act as a strong advocate for students’ rights, ensuring they and their families have access to necessary community resources and support services.
• Collaborate with educational staff, including school nurses and counselors, to promote a holistic approach to student health and well-being.
• Perform regular check-ins with students to monitor their progress, assess their needs, and address any issues related to their mental health, safety, or security.
• Guide families through complex situations and facilitate healthy communication among family members regarding the student’s care.
• Educate students and families on available community resources, support groups, and programs to enhance engagement, resilience, and social interaction.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation of client interactions, assessments, care plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with ethical standards.
• Stay informed of evolving best practices in social work and mental health to continually enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on school-aged children and adolescents, particularly those who are facing challenges related to emotional and social dynamics. You will be tasked with creating supportive interventions that empower students to transition effectively through various phases of their education, ensuring their mental wellness is prioritized within the academic environment.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• A minimum of two years of experience in social work, ideally within a school, community center, or geriatric setting.
• Solid understanding of social work principles, techniques, and aging-related issues, as well as available community resources.
• Exceptional skills in assessment, counseling, and problem-solving related to mental health.
• Empathy, compassion, and the ability to connect meaningfully with children, adolescents, and families.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse professionals.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant software applications.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a remote or telehealth capacity is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with educational psychological assessments and interventions tailored to school settings.
• Engagement with interdisciplinary teams in prior roles that include educators, healthcare providers, and community organizations.

Compensation and Benefits
