What are some common challenges faced by remote nurse practitioners working with postpartum patients, and how can they be addressed?

Remote nurse practitioners in postpartum care often face challenges such as building rapport with new mothers virtually, assessing physical and emotional symptoms without in-person examination, and ensuring clear communication across digital platforms. To overcome these, practitioners can leverage telehealth tools that allow for secure video consultations, use structured assessment questionnaires, and maintain regular follow-ups to monitor patient well-being. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals, like lactation consultants and mental health providers, also helps ensure comprehensive care for postpartum patients.

Remote Nurse Practitioner Postpartum specialists focus on postpartum care, maternal health, and women's health issues, often working with new mothers via telehealth. In contrast, Remote Nurse Practitioner Primary Care providers deliver comprehensive general health services across all age groups. While both roles require similar credentials and often operate in telehealth settings, their patient focus and clinical scope differ significantly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Nurse Practitioner Postpartum, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Nurse Practitioner Postpartum, you need an advanced nursing degree (MSN or DNP), national NP certification, licensure, and specialized knowledge in postpartum care. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and remote patient monitoring tools is essential. Outstanding communication, empathy, and the ability to work independently are key soft skills for supporting new mothers virtually. These skills ensure effective patient care, timely interventions, and strong patient-provider relationships in a remote setting.

What are Remote Nurse Practitioner Postpartum jobs?

Remote Nurse Practitioner Postpartum jobs involve providing postpartum care and support to new mothers and infants via telehealth platforms rather than in-person visits. These practitioners assess physical and mental health, answer questions about recovery and newborn care, and help manage any complications after childbirth. Their role is crucial in ensuring continued care for mothers who may have limited access to in-person healthcare or prefer the convenience of remote consultations.

Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor

About BreatheSuite

BreatheSuite delivers virtual pulmonary rehabilitation to patients with chronic lung conditions across the country. Our mission is to make quality pulmonary rehabilitation accessible, empowering patients to take control of their respiratory health from the comfort of their own homes. We use a multidisciplinary model โ€” NPs, physical therapists, and respiratory therapists โ€” supported by a remote therapeutic monitoring platform built specifically for this population.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our virtual care team. BreatheSuite NPs conduct telehealth evaluations and provide ongoing management for patients across the spectrum of chronic lung conditions โ€” including COPD, ILD, and post-COVID โ€” while overseeing respiratory therapists and collaborating with physical therapists as part of a multidisciplinary care team. This is an opportunity to practice cutting-edge digital health delivery, providing 1-on-1 personalized care entirely via telehealth.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive telehealth evaluations including history, physical examination, and diagnostic review
  • Develop and manage individualized care plans for patients with chronic lung conditions
  • Supervise respiratory therapists providing direct patient care
  • Collaborate with physical therapists and referring providers to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care
  • Provide patient education and counseling on pulmonary health, self-management, and lifestyle modification
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using BreatheSuite's EMR and Coaching Dashboard

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with active license in CO, AZ, or UT
  • Active advanced practice nursing license in good standing
  • DEA license preferred
  • 2 years of experience as a licensed NPย
  • Strong clinical skills with experience in primary care, pulmonology, or chronic disease management
  • Experience supervising or overseeing other healthcare providers
  • Comfortable with or able to learn telehealth platforms, EMR systems, and remote monitoring tools
  • Access to a computer with webcam and microphone, and reliable internet connection
  • Minimum availability of 8 hours per week; 16+ hours preferred with consistent weekly availability

Why BreatheSuite

  • Flexibility: Set your own schedule and work from anywhere in the US. Tell us your desired caseload and we'll work to fill it based on availability in your area.
  • Compensation: Competitive per-session rates, regionally adjusted to Medicare rates. No productivity quotas.
  • Work-Life Balance: No commute, no set hours. Our team handles insurance authorizations and new patient scheduling so you can focus on patient care.
  • Onboarding: Compensated onboarding through BreatheSuite University covers telehealth delivery, EMR navigation, and the clinical background you need for this population โ€” so you're prepared on day one.
  • Support: A multidisciplinary clinical team and dedicated customer success staff provide clinical collaboration, technology support, and direct patient assistance โ€” so admin and tech barriers don't get in the way of care.
