What is a Remote Nuclear SRO?

A Remote Nuclear Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) is a licensed professional responsible for overseeing the safe and compliant operation of a nuclear reactor from a remote location. This role involves monitoring reactor systems, responding to abnormal conditions, and directing on-site personnel to ensure the plant operates within regulatory guidelines. Remote SROs play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient generation of nuclear power, especially as technology enables remote oversight and control. They must maintain a current SRO license and stay updated on plant procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
