What are we looking for?
SoftPro is seeking a Senior Technical (IT) Consultant in our Raleigh, NC office (hybrid) or remote. This is a hands-on technical position and will require firsthand experience recommending and supporting information technologies that will be leveraged by SoftPro’s customers. Technologies, such as (Azure, AWS, Windows and networking) and the associated best practices for these technologies. This position will regularly interface with customer senior management and technical resources.
The ideal candidate has worked in a wide variety of technology environments that will allow them to accurately assess customer environments and guide SoftPro teams to provide exceptional service to SoftPro customers.
What will I do as a Sr. Technical Consultant at SoftPro?
As a Senior Technical Consultant at SoftPro, you act as the primary technical advisor for customers, ensuring their environments are designed, deployed, and optimized to run SoftPro solutions effectively.
What you’ll do:
  • Lead technical discussions during presales and onboarding - define infrastructure requirements, recommend architectures, and guide deployment strategies.
  • Validate customer environments (on-prem or virtual) against application requirements, best practices, and vendor standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance and application issues in collaboration with internal teams and customers.
  • Plan and execute software deployments, upgrades, and complex migration events.
  • Document all engagements, resolutions, and feedback in Dynamics CRM and Azure DevOps.
  • Support internal teams by maintaining pre-production environments and customer-facing test labs (virtual environments).
  • Stay current on technologies used across customer environments and SoftPro solutions.
  • Create, maintain technical documentation on installation procedures.
  • Provide high-quality customer service across all interactions.
  • Travel occasionally to customer sites to ensure optimal performance and outcomes.

Bottom line:
You’re the technical bridge between SoftPro and its customers - owning architecture guidance, deployments, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of customer environments.
What will I need to be successful as a Sr. Technical Consultant at SoftPro?
  • Microsoft certification or equivalent - MCSA (Windows or SQL and certifications)
  • 6+ years of senior level supporting and troubleshooting the following technologies:
    • Windows Server 2019 and later
    • Desktop operating systems (Windows 11)
    • Active Directory (Group policies, users/groups, DNS, etc)
    • Troubleshooting amp; correcting client server network connectivity issues and performance
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and later
    • Installing, configuring and supporting
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Various networking components (switching amp; routing)
    • Backup software and processes
    • VMware and virtualization technologies
    • Citrix Presentation Server and/or Microsoft RDS
    • Remote support tools (Beyond Trust Teams, etc.)
    • PowerShell scripting
    • Office 2016 and later

Non-Technical Skills required:
  • The ideal candidate will have a great attitude and be comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment
