What is a remote non client facing?

A Remote Non Client Facing job is a position that allows you to work from home or another remote location without direct interaction with clients or customers. These roles typically involve tasks such as data entry, research, writing, software development, or internal support functions. They are ideal for individuals who prefer independent work or behind-the-scenes responsibilities. While communication with coworkers or managers may still be required, there is no direct engagement with external clients.

What does the daily work structure look like for a remote non client facing position?

In a Remote Non Client Facing position, your daily work typically involves focused tasks such as data analysis, content creation, internal reporting, or administrative support, depending on the team and industry. Communication usually takes place via email, instant messaging, or video meetings within your department, and you'll collaborate mainly with internal colleagues rather than external clients. Most roles emphasize self-management, clear documentation, and timely project updates. This structure allows you to work independently while still contributing to team goals, making the workday flexible and task-oriented.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a remote non client facing position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Non Client Facing professional, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in independent project management, often supported by a relevant degree or experience in the specific field. Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack, project management platforms like Asana or Trello, and basic office software is typically expected. Excellent written communication, adaptability, and self-motivation are standout soft skills in this role. These capabilities ensure effective productivity, seamless teamwork, and successful project delivery in a virtual environment where direct client interaction is not required.

Job description

About Us
A Treeline business unit specializing in managed IT services for nonprofits, schools, and healthcare organizations is looking for a Client Engineer to work across the New York City metro. Our work is hands-on, client-facing, and mission-driven.

The Role
We are looking for a Client Engineer to be the technical partner our NYC clients rely on. This is a field-based, hybrid role. You will manage your own schedule, travel to client sites across the NYC metro, and own client relationships, not just a ticket queue. Travel is reimbursed.

This is hands-on client IT engineering, not a remote-only help desk.

Candidates must be based in the New York City metro area at the time of hire. Relocation is not supported for this role.

What You Will Do

  • Support clients across Microsoft 365, identity (Entra ID), endpoints, networks, and servers, both onsite and remotely
  • Own client relationships and small projects end to end
  • Troubleshoot at the infrastructure layer: Microsoft 365 tenant configuration, networking, and endpoint management across multiple client environments
  • Explain technical issues clearly to non-technical staff and executives, and document as you go

What We Are Looking For

  • Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting networks, servers, endpoints, and identity, whether onsite or remote
  • Three or more years in IT support; multi-client or MSP experience strongly preferred
  • Solid Microsoft 365 administration, Entra ID, and networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls)
  • A strong communicator who builds trust with clients and can adapt to any audience
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102) preferred
  • Comfortable traveling to client sites across the NYC metro

Compensation
$70,000 to $85,000 per year, based on experience.

We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds.
