Remote Niche information

What is a remote niche?

A remote niche job refers to a specialized role that is performed entirely online or outside of a traditional office setting, often focusing on a specific field or industry with unique skills or expertise. These jobs can range from highly specialized freelance positions to roles in emerging industries that require particular knowledge or experience. Because of their specialized nature, remote niche jobs can often offer more flexibility, competitive pay, and opportunities for individuals with rare or in-demand skills. Examples include remote data privacy consultants, virtual reality content creators, or online language tutors for uncommon languages.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote niche specialist?

To thrive as a Remote Niche Specialist, you need deep expertise in your specialized field, strong self-management skills, and typically a relevant degree or proven experience. Familiarity with remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, project management platforms, and industry-specific software is essential. Exceptional communication, time management, and adaptability help you excel in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with diverse teams. These skills ensure productivity, seamless virtual teamwork, and the ability to deliver specialized services from anywhere.

What unique challenges might I face working in a remote niche role, and how can I overcome them?

Working in a remote niche role often means collaborating with a specialized, geographically dispersed team, which can lead to challenges such as communication gaps and difficulty accessing role-specific resources. Proactively setting up regular check-ins with team members, using project management tools, and participating in online communities for your specialization can help bridge these gaps. Staying organized and self-motivated is key, as you may have to independently solve problems or seek out learning opportunities. Ultimately, embracing flexibility and continuous communication will help you thrive in this unique remote environment.

Remote Clinical Therapist | Relationship Focus (will train!)

The Counseling Hub

Columbia, MO • On-site, Remote

$55K - $80K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement, PTO

Job description

Burned tf out? Overloaded? Sick of practices that preach work-life balance but don't actually care about you?
Same, bruh. Same.
That's why we built The Counseling Hub the way we did-to protect our people and the integrity of the work.
(Also... we're hiring. Like, right now.)
We're on the hunt for a licensed, full-time Clinical Therapist to primarily work with couples. No existing credentials or experience with couples? We got you. We will pay for your Gottman Levels 1 & 2 training and get you set up with an in-house mentor to guide you through it all. Oh-and yep, there's a $1500 hiring bonus (paid out quarterly in your first year). We're looking to hire at our Columbia or Jeff City location (or, if you love that gorgina drive down Highway 63, you could see folks at both!), so if you're in the Mid-Mo area, we've got a place for you.
We're deeply sarcastic and ridiculously passionate about making therapy actually work. We nerd out over Gottman Methodology, trauma-informed work, outcome-focused care, and what snacks to bring to team meetings.
What are you really looking for in a therapist role? Most positions sound the same, so let us try to actually share what it's like at The Hub-then you can decide if you're vibing with us.
Why Our Therapists Love Working at The Hub
  • Freedom & Flexibility: Control your schedule. Life happens. Take time when you need it.
  • Bonuses: Quarterly. Based on metrics (and not bs).
  • Specialization/Niche Support: Want a specialty? We'll get you supervision, training, and a development track to support it.
  • Professional Development Ops: CEs that actually matter to your goals. Want Gottman or EMDR training? Let's gooooo.
  • No Admin Headaches: You won't handle intake scheduling or billing.
  • Streamlined Systems: We build and refine workflows with therapist input.
  • Core Values in Action: Our values aren't posters-they're major players in how we show up.
  • Supportive Team: Real community. High standards. Zero tolerance for toxicity.

You'll find a team that truly supports you, holds themselves and each other accountable, and is committed to growing both professionally and personally.
The Counseling Hub values an inclusive environment and encourages people of color or queer-identified individuals to apply. All applicants are welcome.
Hours, Pay, & Benefits
Why Choose W2 (and not 1099)?
This position is a W2 role. W2 = no tax stress and no extra costs.
1099 might seem like higher pay upfront, but you're covering your own taxes, insurance, office space, and the like.
We handle that for you, and you keep your brain space (#ItsTheSmallWins).
Compensation
  • Base Salary: $55K-$80K (base $36K + per-session commission).
  • Hiring Bonus: $1500, paid quarterly in year one
  • Quarterly Bonuses: Tied to outcome-based metrics via our client data system.
  • Hours: 36 hrs/week (32 client-facing + 4 flex), 4-day workweek totally doable
  • Evening/Weekend Stipend: additional $25 stipend per 4-hour evening or weekend shift (up to 4 shifts/week)

Benefits
  • PTO, retirement, and PD funds
  • ACA-compliant medical, dental, vision
  • Short-term disability coverage
  • Life insurance.

We're looking for someone who is interested in providing quality work, honing their craft, engaging in consultation and supervision, and continuous improvement.
If you're looking for a place to show up, stay hidden, and leave, this ain't it.
If you want a warm environment with high standards, built-in support, and a shared sense of community, you're in the right place.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Clinical Therapist will report directly to the Director of Clinical Operations. The primary purpose of the Clinical Therapist position is to maintain an active caseload of individual clients and excel in clinical growth. This entails but is not limited to the following:
What You'll Do
  • See clients (we'll build your caseload together)
  • Keep notes within 72 hours
  • Use feedback-informed treatment
  • Attend monthly team meetings
  • Stay licensed + ethical (#Duh)
  • time-limited: assist in development of clinical programming or other clinical-related projects

Licensure Requirement
Must be licensed in Missouri (LPC, LCSW, LMFT). We support ongoing PD. We'll help you stay compliant.
Don't Meet Every Qualification?
That's okay! We value potential, growth, and alignment more than a perfect resume. Reach out anyway (seriously, don't be shy). (Okay, okay, we do require that you be licensed, whether provisionally or fully, to practice therapy in Missouri. That's a dealbreaker.)
Our Purpose, Niche, & Values
Our purpose? Easy-to facilitate meaningful connection. Everything flows from that.
Our niche? Even easier-to provide high quality clinical services
And our values? The best. Be authentic and candid, have depth and fun, be excellence-oriented and growthcentric, own your 'stuff,' and embrace interdependence. Want more on the values? Click here!
