Job description

Position Overview

Nexus Mental Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team. In this full-time position, you will specialize in delivering trauma-informed care to individuals navigating the complexities of trauma recovery. Your expertise will play a crucial role in improving the lives of patients affected by trauma, including those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.

About the Organization

Nexus Mental Healthcare is a leading outpatient mental health provider located in Grand Prairie, Texas. We are deeply committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for our patients, particularly survivors of trauma. By combining evidence-based interventions with a compassionate approach, we strive to facilitate healing and resilience in our clients' lives. At Nexus, we believe in empowering our therapists to use their strengths and specialties to make a significant impact in the field of mental health.

Work Environment

This role is primarily remote, providing the flexibility to conduct therapy sessions from the comfort of your home. Despite the remote nature, collaboration remains at the heart of our practice. Therapists participate in regular virtual team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities that emphasize trauma-informed care standards. The typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to meet the unique needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to gather detailed patient histories and identify suitable treatment pathways.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery and resilience-building, ensuring alignment with individual client goals.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support patient healing.
  • Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the specific needs of trauma survivors, fostering a space for healing and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure integrated care and comprehensive support for each patient.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, remaining available to patients in their most vulnerable moments.
  • Educate patients and their families about understanding trauma responses, building coping mechanisms, and accessing community resources for further support.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in accordance with all legal and ethical standards related to mental health practice.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with the evolving standards of trauma therapy and evidence-based practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be individuals who have experienced trauma, including those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will be instrumental in providing care that addresses their unique psychological needs, helping them develop coping strategies, and facilitating their journey toward healing.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on building rapport and trust with clients.
  • Capability to remain composed in high-stress situations, demonstrating emotional intelligence and resilience.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications.
  • Strong collaborative spirit, capable of functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience

We prefer candidates who have at least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, specifically working with trauma survivors. Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions will be highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Healthcare benefits, ensuring access to essential medical services.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions to support your long-term financial goals.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay to promote a healthy work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage to safeguard your practice.
  • Ongoing opportunities for continuing education and professional development.
  • Opportunities for career advancement within our trauma-focused practice.
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment where your contributions are valued.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Nexus Mental Healthcare, we are committed to fostering the professional growth of our team. As a part of our organization, you will have access to continual education and training resources to enhance your skills in trauma therapy. You can also explore diverse career pathways within our practice, expanding your expertise and leadership potential over time.
