Job description

Position Overview

Nexus Mental Healthcare is actively searching for a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Therapist possessing a valid LCSW, LPC, or LMFT license to join our dynamic team in providing remote, trauma-informed mental health services. This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home while making a profound impact on the mental health of individuals affected by trauma. Our goal is to create safe, therapeutic relationships that enable healing and growth.

About the Organization

Nexus Mental Healthcare is a leading provider of outpatient mental health services committed to the highest standards of care for individuals facing the challenges of trauma. Located in Austin, Texas, our clinic specializes in treating conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and nurturing environment tailored to our patients' unique needs, emphasizing resilience and recovery.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you to provide quality therapy from a setting that is most comfortable for you. You will be part of our collaborative clinical team, engaging with a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals dedicated to addressing the complex needs of our patients. Regular virtual meetings will keep you connected, ensuring ongoing collaboration and support among peers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand clients' histories and the impact of trauma, identifying individualized treatment approaches.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor personalized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and promote stable emotional health.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailored to the needs of each client.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients process their trauma, refine their coping strategies, and foster a sense of healing.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, holistic care across the patient’s mental health journey.
  • Provide crisis interventions and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring that clients receive immediate, effective assistance.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and resources available to support their recovery.
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and confidential documentation of all therapy sessions and assessments, complying with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to discuss treatment strategies and progress, contributing to a culture of continued professional development.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to ensure our practices are at the forefront of mental health care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus primarily on individuals who are survivors of trauma, including those struggling with PTSD and complex trauma. You will have the chance to work intimately with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences, providing tailored therapy that recognizes their unique struggles and empowering them on their paths to recovery.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
  • A solid understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in providing mental health therapy.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
  • The ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations, responding effectively to clients in crisis.
  • A history of success working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role is competitive, with a salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, based on experience. In addition to a generous salary, we provide:

  • A comprehensive healthcare benefits package to support your physical and mental well-being.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO), sick leave, and holiday pay to encourage work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage for peace of mind.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and support for professional development.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Nexus Mental Healthcare, we are committed to your professional development and career advancement. As part of our team, you will have the chance to engage in mentorship programs, access advanced training, and explore leadership opportunities within our trauma-informed practice.
