Job description

About the Company
Turn is a venture-backed, experienced team of entrepreneurs focused on driving unprecedented value to high-volume employers. As an award-winning background check platform with an API-first approach, Turn specializes in providing robust support to talent platforms, staffing agencies, and employers across more than 30 different industries, with U.S., Canadian, and international screening capabilities.
About the Role
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Turn is an entry point into a high-growth sales career. You'll be on the front lines of our go-to-market motion: researching prospects, generating qualified pipeline, and setting the stage for our senior sales team to close. This role is ideal for someone who has had some exposure to sales or a customer-facing environment and is ready to take the next step in a metrics-driven, fast-paced startup.
You'll work closely with sales leadership to execute outbound campaigns, follow up on inbound leads, and develop a deep understanding of Turn's platform and the background screening space. If you're hungry, coachable, and excited about selling technology that genuinely helps companies hire better and faster - this role is for you.
Your Responsibilities
  • Prospect and qualify outbound leads through email, phone, LinkedIn, and other digital channels
  • Follow up on inbound marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) generated through campaigns, content, and events
  • Book discovery calls and product demos
  • Research target accounts and contacts to personalize outreach and identify pain points
  • Maintain accurate records of all outreach activity, lead status, and pipeline in HubSpot CRM
  • Meet and track weekly KPIs including outreach volume, connect rates, and meetings booked
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaign feedback and messaging refinement
  • Learn and articulate Turn's value proposition across key verticals including staffing, gig economy, healthcare, and retail

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in a sales, business development, recruiting, or customer-facing role
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in writing and on the phone
  • Comfortable working in a self-directed, remote environment with strong time management skills
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) and sales engagement platforms
  • Experience with LinkedIn for professional outreach is a plus
  • Ability to receive and act on feedback quickly, you're accountable and growth-oriented
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with relevant experience
  • Prior exposure to SaaS, HR tech, or background screening is a bonus, not a requirement

Perks & Compensation
  • Competitive base salary + commission structure
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision
  • Competitive vacation policy
  • Work alongside a tight-knit team of experienced operators who will invest in your development

This role is remote (anywhere in the continental United States). Central Time Zone (CST) is preferred.
Turn is an Equal Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, protected Veteran status, age, or any other characteristic protected by law.
