Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Florida-licensed civil litigator and trial attorney for a part-time, of counsel engagement. Our practice is concentrated on construction litigation and business disputes arising from the construction industry. Compensation is $100.00 to $175.00 per hour depending on experience.

If you are an experienced civil litigator looking for a fully remote and flexible opportunity to do meaningful work without the demands of traditional firm life, this engagement was built for you. You will never be required to report to an office. You manage your schedule, your docket, and your time. You set your own workload. No rainmaking. No business development. No office politics. Your cases, your call. Direct access to principal attorney expertise in construction law is there when you want it and out of the way when you do not. Matters are concentrated primarily in Central Florida; in-person appearances are generally limited to trial, and travel expenses are reimbursed.

Responsibilities

Serve as lead counsel on construction and civil litigation matters

Handle all court appearances, hearings, motion practice, and mediations

Manage cases from inception through trial, bench and jury

Manage discovery, including depositions, pleadings, and litigation strategy on your active files

Communicate directly with clients on case status, strategy, and next steps

Manage your own docket and deadlines independently

Qualifications

Active Florida Bar license in good standing

Experience in construction law, business litigation, or real estate litigation strongly preferred

Minimum 5 trials as lead or co-lead counsel in circuit or county court; experience as a former prosecutor or public defender welcomed

Ability to manage an independent litigation docket

Professional, responsive, and client-focused

Bilingual in Spanish a plus
