What is a Remote Newsletter job?

A Remote Newsletter job involves creating, curating, and distributing email newsletters for organizations or individuals while working from a remote location. Responsibilities typically include researching topics, writing engaging content, designing email layouts, managing subscriber lists, and analyzing performance metrics. These professionals often use email marketing platforms and collaborate with teams online to ensure newsletters are effective and align with brand goals. Remote Newsletter jobs are ideal for those with strong writing, communication, and digital marketing skills.

What are some common challenges faced by remote newsletter editors, and how can they be managed effectively?

Remote newsletter editors often face challenges such as coordinating with distributed teams across different time zones, maintaining consistent content quality, and meeting tight publication deadlines. These can be managed through clear communication channels (like Slack or email), using project management tools to track tasks, and setting regular check-ins with writers and designers. Additionally, establishing editorial guidelines and maintaining a shared content calendar can help streamline workflow and ensure everyone is aligned on deadlines and expectations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Newsletter Editor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Newsletter Editor, you need strong writing, editing, and content curation skills, typically supported by a background in journalism, communications, or marketing. Familiarity with email marketing platforms (such as Mailchimp or Substack), basic HTML, and analytics tools is often required. Excellent time management, adaptability, and communication skills help you collaborate remotely and engage diverse audiences. These competencies ensure high-quality, timely newsletters that drive reader engagement and support business goals.

Remote Newsletters focus on creating and managing email-based communication for audiences, often involving content curation and distribution. Remote Content Writers produce a wide range of written content for websites, blogs, and marketing materials. While both roles require strong writing skills, newsletters emphasize email platform familiarity, whereas content writers focus on diverse content formats. Both are common in digital marketing and media industries, but they serve different communication purposes.

Job description

The opportunity

We're looking for a driven Newsletter sales Account Executive to lead ad sales for our newly launched B2B newsletters-an opportunity to get in early and shape the strategy for a high-growth media channel. In this role, you'll connect advertisers with highly engaged audiences and help establish our newsletters as a top-tier media property.

You'll own the full sales cycle-from identifying prospects to closing deals and growing accounts. While your core responsibility will be newsletters, you'll also have opportunities to expand client relationships across TechnologyAdvice's broader suite of marketing solutions, including lead generation, sponsored content, and digital advertising.

If you love matching advertisers with the right audience, building long-term partnerships, and being part of a fast-moving launch, this is your moment.

Location: United States

What you'll do
  • Sell ad space in our newly launched B2B newsletters to new and existing clients
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospect, pitch, close, and grow accounts
  • Build a deep understanding of each newsletter's audience to position it effectively
  • Identify high-fit advertisers and develop tailored proposals that align with their marketing goals
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Client Success, Marketing, Editorial) to ensure smooth campaign execution and renewals
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
  • Stay informed on industry trends and use insights to shape your sales strategy
  • Grow accounts into broader, multi-product partnerships across TA's full media and demand gen ecosystem
Who you are
  • 2+ years of experience in media sales, digital advertising, or newsletter sponsorships
  • Track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent communicator with a knack for relationship-building
  • Comfortable selling both pre-packaged and custom solutions
  • Passion for newsletters, digital media, and helping clients win
  • Strategic thinker who understands how to sell based on audience alignment and campaign objectives
  • Agile professional who thrives on continuously pivoting strategies to drive business needs forward
What we offer you
  • Career Growth: Advance with mentorship programs, leadership academies, and opportunities to shape company culture and DEI initiatives.
  • Flex Fridays: Adjust your 40-hour week to enjoy a full or half day off on Fridays.
  • Remote-First Culture: Work from the comfort of your home.
  • Flexible PTO: Take the time you need, when you need it.
  • Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision plans for you and your family.
  • Insurance Protection: Life, AD&D, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability coverage.
  • 401K with Match: Secure your future with our company-matched retirement savings.
  • Paid Parental Leave: Support for new parents during life's special moments.
  • Wellness Perks: Access Headspace and enjoy monthly fitness reimbursements.
  • Pet Insurance: Care for your furry family members.
  • Speaker Series Bonus: Present in our monthly speaker series and earn a bonus.
  • Book Reimbursement: Get up to 12 books reimbursed per year to fuel your learning.
  • Bucket List Benefit: Celebrate milestones with annual contributions toward your dream adventures after 3 years.
  • In-Office Perks: Enjoy catered lunches for our in-office team.
