Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Domestic DIB, MRTFB Direct Hire Authority. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer.   • You will perform standard and routine repairs, restore, and remove composite or plastic parts and structures with surface damage such as chips, scratches, minor cuts, pits, abrasion, dents, perform wet layups, delamination, dis-bond, and bubbles.
  • You will assemble vacuum bags and make basic repairs to restore the aerodynamic smoothness of parts in order to prevent further damage.
  • You will independently, with minimal oversight and follow specific instructions and use established methods, processes, blueprints, and technical directives to accomplish routine assignments.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • This position requires rotating shift work.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF an COMPOSITE/PLASTIC WORKER, 4352-8 without more than normal supervision such as:
  • Assisting with and or setting up and operating various standard industrial machines, tools, and equipment, such as sanders, routers, drills, heat blankets, heat lamps, pre-constructed jigs, molds, and form blocks;
  • Using common types of plastic resins, epoxies, acrylics and other similar materials to repair surface areas on rotor blades;
  • Interpreting single-view blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and similar drawings, and to using arithmetic/standard handbook formulae in performing dimensional measurements and maintaining required tolerances;
  • Performing standard, routine disassembly and assembly operations; and
  • Performing shop clean-up duties and keeps parts and materials neatly stored in the work area.
