Job description

Our Client is seeking a fulltime Principal Network Architect responsible for the design, implementation, and long-term ownership of Next Generation 911 (NG911) network architecture. This is a hands-on, principal-level individual contributor role that combines deep expertise in cloud networking, SIP/VoIP telephony, and mission-critical infrastructure. The role partners closely with the NG911 Product Manager, who defines product strategy and priorities, while owning the architecture, deployment standards, and technical execution required to deliver scalable, secure, and highly reliable NG911 services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and own end-to-end NG911 network architectures aligned with NENA i3 standards, ESInet integration, and state-specific requirements.
  • Architect and implement highly available AWS network solutions, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs, load balancing, and security controls.
  • Lead SIP/VoIP and telephony architecture, including SIP trunks, SBCs, media gateways, call routing, failover, and migration from legacy voice systems.
  • Personally drive deployment and go-live activities for complex PSAP environments while developing repeatable standards, runbooks, and automation practices.
  • Ensure five-nines (99.999%) service availability, low-latency communications, and compliance with CJIS, NIST, CISA, and state NG911 requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with state 911 agencies, ESInet providers, connectivity partners, and customer IT organizations.
  • Provide technical leadership across Cloud, Services, Support, and Engineering teams to enable scalable, repeatable deployments.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in network engineering, telecommunications, or infrastructure architecture, including principal- or lead-level responsibilities.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in AWS networking and SIP/VoIP telephony architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of IP networking, routing, switching, VPNs, QoS, and high-availability design.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, highly available production environments.
  • Knowledge of NG911, ESInet environments, NENA i3 standards, and public safety technologies preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect, CCNP/CCIE, and NENA ENP.

The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $179000.00/hr.
