JOB SUMMARY
 
The IT Quality Assurance Tester III functions as a senior tester and sub-lead within the Quality Assurance team, supporting the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role leads feature-level test planning, ensures quality through structured peer reviews, and performs hands-on testing activities as needed. The position also serves as a primary QA liaison to functional teams, aligning testing efforts with business requirements and release objectives.
 
 
JOB DUTIES
 
  • Leads feature-level test planning to ensure comprehensive test coverage aligned with business and technical requirements
  • Develops and maintains detailed test strategies, scenarios, and test cases for assigned features
  • Identifies testing risks, dependencies, and gaps early in the development lifecycle
  • Conducts and facilitates peer reviews of test artifacts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality
  • Provides guidance and feedback to QA team members to improve testing practices and consistency
  • Ensures adherence to established QA standards, methodologies, and documentation practices
  • Executes functional, regression, and integration testing as needed to support delivery timelines
  • Manages defect identification, documentation, tracking, and validation to support timely resolution
  • Validates defect fixes and confirms readiness for production deployment
  • Acts as the primary QA representative for assigned functional teams
  • Collaborates with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Participate in planning ceremonies, backlog refinement, and release discussions to ensure testing readiness and alignment
  • Other duties as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing
  • Expertise in test planning, design, and execution
  • Experience conducting peer reviews and mentoring junior testers
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA)
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to pass required background screening
  • Employees must provide their own reliable internet if working a remote/hybrid position
 
The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.
