Optiv is seeking a Sr.ZScalerEngineer to join Optiv Security's 24x7x365 Security Operations Center as a member of the Advanced Fusion Center (AFC) team. The Optiv AFC line of business consists of providing security operations expertise to a robust and growing client base.Our team is comprised of highly technical individuals capable of delivering managed services to clients in all industry verticals.The Optiv AFC specializes in custom-tailored security solutions delivered primarily through three practice teams: Client Engagement, Engineering Operations, and Detection and Response Operations. These teams work in tandem to assist our clients in reaching their security maturity goals.

The Sr.ZScalerEngineer will be responsible for following Optiv AFC processes & procedures, as well as managing and maintaining security systems across internal and client environments.The Sr.ZScalerEngineer will work closely with Management, Solution Architects, Principal Security Engineers from other internal teams and clients to complete high profile, critical services to existing AFC clients. They will serve as a primary responder for AFC customer systems, taking ownership of client configuration issues, and tracking through resolution.

How you'll make an impact

  • Work on various aspects of cloud security, including web filtering policy enforcement, CASB, firewall, browser isolation, sandboxing, and data loss prevention

  • Assess, identify gaps and develop controls to mitigate security threats and manage infrastructure controls

  • Must have experience managing and maturingZscalermodules to include: ZIA, ZDX and ZPA

  • Develop, mature, and maintain Zscaler's cloud-based infrastructure, migrating policies to cloud based services from legacy proxy environment, and working on firewall configurations in ZIA

  • Additionally, engineer will be involved with maintaining, implementing, monitoring, supporting, and troubleshooting networks/applications/endpoint security as related to Zscaler

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security issues related to Zscaler services

  • Conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and corporate policies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Zscaler services with existing infrastructure

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Zscaler products and services to recommend upgrades and enhancements

  • Provide training and support to IT teams and end-users for best practices on Zscaler platforms

  • Develop documentation on configuration, troubleshooting procedures, and operational guidelines

  • Participate in emergency response teams to handle security incidents and provide post-mortem analysis

What we're hiring for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Engineering or related field of study; or at least 6 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • 4-7 years ofexperience with managed Security Services or Information Security experience required, administration, configuration and management required, Enterprise Security administration required

  • 2-4+ years of experience managing, administrating and deploying Zscaler

  • 2-4+ years of networking/network security (firewall, DLP, CASB, proxy, etc.)

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Strong foundation in network security principles, including Zero Trust architecture

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

  • Ability to analyze device and traffic logs, extensive knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack

  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting while maintaining communication and upholding collaborative team dynamics

  • Proficient in creating and managing security policies and protocols

  • Security+, CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, CEH and or other industry certifications preferred
