A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable the DoD to achieve their mission, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need a network engineer like you who knows how to craft the exact network the DoD needs.
As a Network Engineer on our team, you'll help the DoD deploy a reliable network to support national defense. You'll work with customers to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape network requirements. You'll then plan the acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms, to supporting the acquisition of hardware, you'll put your hardware and software talents to good use. This is your chance to grow your skills in network optimization and cloud technologies while continuing to grow your network engineering experience. You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with network security and the design of IT systems or networks for large commercial enterprises or government agencies
  • 3+ years of experience with firewall and enterprise security design, including device hardening, intrusion detection and intrusion prevention systems, SIEM, firewalls, internet protocol security, and vulnerability assessment
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco, or Juniper firewalls
  • Experience with monitoring tools and log collectors to perform analysis of traffic
  • Experience with boundary protection
  • Knowledge of packet analysis tools, such as Wireshark
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8140 baseline Level II Certification such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, or DoD Cyber Workforce Framework Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-native and over-the-top networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with SD-WAN
  • Experience with Ansible or Python
  • Knowledge of DoD IT and cloud security policies, including STIGs and DoD Cloud SRG, and how to apply them to the design and implementation of cloud solutions
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, prior publications, and speaking engagements in industry or vendor forums

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
